The Well Behind the Pumpkin Patch 👻 | Horror Story
Something down there has been waiting all year. It just needed a voice to sound like.
The Sealed Well of 1963
Behind Miller's pumpkin patch, past the scarecrow with no face, there's a well they sealed shut in 1963. Every Halloween, eleven-year-old Tommy cuts through the patch — the pumpkins there grow big as wagon wheels. His mom always said the same thing: stay away from the old well. This Halloween, his trick-or-treat bucket slipped through the gap between the chains.
His Own Voice Called Back
Tommy lay flat on the cold stones and called down: hello? His voice fell a long, long way into the dark. Then, from way below, his own voice called back. "Hello, Tommy." It knew his name."I found your bucket," it said, in his voice. "Come and get it, Tommy." He told it no. It laughed — his laugh — and said: "Your mom said that to me, too."
The Thing Nobody Talks About
That's when Tommy remembered the thing nobody talks about. Miller's little brother fell down that well in 1963. They sealed it the same week. His name was Tommy. The Chains Started Rattling
The chains started rattling — like something down there was pulling, hand over hand, climbing. The wooden lid lifted an inch. Then two. Tommy ran, and didn't look back until he hit the road. But when he got home, his bucket was sitting on the porch steps. Bone dry. Full of candy he never collected."The Well Behind the Pumpkin Patch" is an original narrated horror story from The Haunted Reel — Halloween-season terror in the true-feeling style viewers can't stop watching: an ordinary patch, an ordinary rule, and one impossible voice from below.
If something down there ever calls your name — don't answer in your own voice.
